Jane Birkin is our Icon of the day the British actress and once wife to Serge Gainsbourg is Muse too many. Her style is Bohemian with a Rock N Roll element mixed in. Who could forget Jane Birkin moan and groan in Serge Gainsbourg song “Je t’aime… moi non plus”? Her appearance in the 1966 film ” Blowup” or better yet her role in Don Juan ( or if Don Juan was a woman). A activist who was all for sexual ambiguity and mother to three of the hippest “it girls” who also turned out with the artistc gene too. As if all these things didn’t make her cool enough Hermes named the ” Birkin’ after Jane and musicians and directors to date continue to seek Jane for countless collaborations. In the end what makes Jane Birkin so rad is her sense of being ” Keep smiling - it takes 10 years off”! we couldn’t agree more.

Yoko Ono is today’s Icon of the day. What’s not to love about Yoko Ono? This radical artist, singer, activist, and muse is the perfect Icon for all. We got a chance to see Yoko perform with her son Sean and The Plastics . We were floored by her ability to belt out howls and screams deep from the gut. Towards the end of the show the audience was given these Imagine flash- lights that were encouraged to flicker for all mankind, ” Imagine Peace” in a calm voice sang Yoko Ono. Such perfect simple words were used over and over again as images of John Lenon projected onto the screen. Sadly the image that sent chills down our spine ironically was of John Lennon’s bloody glasses placed near a cup of water overlooking Central Park . In honor of Yoko Ono we selected a few styles of Benjamin Eyewear that really compliment her unique and profound vision.
